Also earned a spot on the Horizon League Fall and Spring Honor Rolls.

2011: Season best 8k of 28:29 at Louisville... 85th place Horizon League finish in 31:54... A member of the Detroit Athletic Director’s Honor Roll and the HL Fall and Spring Academic Honor Rolls.

2010: Made lifetime cross country debut earning a varsity letter... Ran 23:27 for his Cass-Benton four-mile debut... Ran a 28:07 8k PR at Louisville... Finished 79th at the Horizon League meet (28:31)... A member of the UDM Athletic Director’s Honor Roll and the conference's Fall and Spring Academic Honor Rolls.

2009: Did not run cross country.

High School: Took third in the 800m in the Michigan Division 3 championships.

Personal: Son of Jerome and Marlene Smalley... His older brother Kevin graduated from Detroit in 2011... Kevin also ran on the Titans’ track and cross country teams... An engineering major.
