Kelley Miko

Kelley Miko joined the Detroit Mercy Department of Athletics in August 2017 as a cross country graduate assistant.

She joins the department after coaching several different sports at the high school level in northern Michigan. She has coached cross country, track and field and basketball at various levels.

Miko was the co-varsity head girls basketball coach at Alpena High School, where she was the 2015-16 Coach of the Year in the Big North Conference in her first year as coach. She helped lead Alpena to two-straight winning seasons.

Miko was also the head cross country coach for Thunder Bay Junior High in Alpena, where she was a Physical Education and Health instructor. She also was the assistant varsity girls track and field coach at Alpena High School from 2014-2016.

Miko is a Magna Cum Laude graduate in 2014 of East Carolina University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education and Health. While at ECU, Miko ran cross country and track and field, competing in the 5K, Steeplechase, 1500-meter and 800-meter runs.

She went to L'Anse Creuse High School in Harrison Township. In high school, she was a four-time MVP in track and field and three-time MVP in cross country, as well as lettering four years in basketball.
