- A four year letter winner in cross country and track and field for St. Joseph High School
- In cross country, he was a four-time Division 2 state finals qualifier taking 41st in 2010 and 2011, while helping his team to four top-10 finishes, including runner-up as a junior
- He is fifth in school history with a time of 15:44 in the 5k
- In track and field, he qualified for the state championships in the 1600-meters and 3200m as a senior and the 3200m as a junior
- Tabbed All-Conference in cross country and track and field on three occasions
