Bill Kozyra is in his third season on the Titan coaching staff and he has been a part of Detroit lacrosse from its very first game.  His duties include special teams as well as assisting with the defense.

Working with head coach Matt Holtz and assistant coach Chris Kolon, Kozyra helped guide the Titans to the programs first three wins in 2010, and that was with a roster full of freshmen and sophomores. He also saw the defense ranked in the top 10 in the nation in caused turnovers, which helped keep Detroit in every game they played in.

Kozyra began his coaching career at Notre Dame Preparatory/Marist Academy in 2004, coaching the middle school program for three seasons (2004-2006) before moving up to the varsity program as an assistant for the next two years. During his time, he helped guide the varsity team to a 29-10 overall record and a Catholic League B-Division championship in 2008, following a 17-1 regular season, as well as a trip to the state regional finals.

A 2007 graduate of Oakland University with a bachelor’s degree in business management, he played defense for the OU club lacrosse team for three seasons, helping the program to two CCLA Conference championships as well as two trips to the MCLA National Finals.

Kozyra is currently enrolled in UDM’s MBA program.
