Former Titan All-MAAC defender Paul Bitetti will join the staff as an undergraduate assistant coach in 2017.
He was First Team All-MAAC at defense for the three-straight years, just the second Titan in school history to be selected All-MAAC First Team three times. He finished his career appearing in 52 games and tallying 55 ground balls and 59 caused turnovers, fourth in school history.
As a senior, he led the team with 17 caused turnovers and tied for sixth with 18 ground balls.
He was a member of the Detroit Mercy Athletic Director’s Honor Roll as a senior and earned the Academic Excellence Award, given to Titan student-athletes who have achieved academic excellence during their time at Detroit Mercy recording at least a 3.0 GPA for every semester that they have participated in college athletics. He was also afour-time member of the MAAC Academic Honor Roll and a three-time member of the MAAC All-Academic Team.
