Ablaye Camara

A familiar face rejoined the University of Detroit Mercy men's soccer team as Abalaye Camara, who was a four-year starter for the Titans from 2001-04, will serve as an assistant coach.

In his four-year career with the Titans, Camara was named to the All-Horizon League First Team his last three seasons and garnered All-Newcomer accolades in 2001. Camara was also a two-time selection to the All-Tournament team (2003, '04) and he earned both the Arthur Ashe Award and the President's Award senior season.

Camara's name can be found several times in UDM's record book, which includes seven season and five career records. Some of Camara's career records include: second in career goals (36), second in points (98), third in assists (26) and first in shots (229).

Currently, Camara is an adjunct professor at Detroit in mathematics for University Academic Services, as well as for economics in the economics department. In addition, Camara is the coordinator of the Successful Transition and Retention (STAR) program.

Camara graduated with a bachelor's degree in economics in 2005 and also holds a certificate in business, an MBA from Detroit and a master's in financial economics (UDM).
