Charlie Miles was named an assistant coach for the University of Detroit Mercy men's soccer program in August of 2021 and was tabbed the interim head coach in November of 2022.Â
Miles joins the Titans after serving most recently as the assistant men's soccer coach at his alma mater, Concordia University Ann Arbor, from 2019-21, assisting in numerous roles including arranging travel plans, collaborating on creating training sessions, player evaluation, recruiting and game strategy.
Miles has long been a part of Detroit City FC as a coach, first as a youth club soccer coach for DCFC Youth West since 2016, where he ran training sessions and created daily activities for various youth teams.
He also was the assistant women's soccer coach for DCFC in 2021, creating and executing session plans, along with assisting in pre-game strategy and game-day coaching for the semi-pro women's team locally in Detroit.
Miles, a native of Brighton, England, began his coaching career working for a Chicago Fire affiliate soccer club in 2013-14. He grew up playing for the Brighton and Hove Albion Academy. He played in the Premier Development League in Florida for SWFL Adrenaline in 2014.
He was a two-year starter and captain for Concordia, scoring 11 goals across two seasons for the Cardinals in 2016-17.
Miles earned his Bachelor's degree in Business Marketing from Concordia University Ann Arbor in 2020. He currently holds a USSF "C" License.
