David Martin was a four-year student-athlete for the men's soccer team and was named student assistant coach for the 2024 season.
His first season on the sidelines with Detroit Mercy resulted in victories over Eastern Illinois, Milwaukee, and Wright State. UDM also earned ties with Cleveland State, NKU, PFW, and Robert Morris. Martin was also apart of a staff that helped coach Drew Pierson to Second Team All-Horizon League honors, while Guershom Sylvain and Josh Copeland earned Third Team All-Conference honors.
