Paul Thomas joined the UDM men's soccer staff prior to the 2015 season as a volunteer assistant coach. He is currently the Director of Coaching at the Michigan State Youth Soccer Association, a position he's held since 2013.

In addition to his role at the Michigan State Youth Soccer Association, Thomas works at U.S. Soccer on the Coaching Education Staff and at the Michigan Bucks as an assistant coach.

Thomas was the head women's soccer coach at North Park University for the 2013 season. He was also the Olympic Development Program head coach for Illinois Youth Soccer from 2009-12 and the Director of Coaching at Palatine Celtic from 2009-11 and 2013.

Prior to coaching in the Chicago area, Thomas was the women's soccer head coach at Madonna University for three seasons from 2006-08. He helped lead the Crusaders to a perfect 12-0 conference record and a regular-season title in his final season in 2008. Madonna went 15-4 overall and finished the season No. 22 in the country as Thomas was voted the WHAC Coach of the Year. He had a 35-14-4 record total in three years at MU.

Thomas was the head coach at Michigan Rush from 2004-09, the Director of Training at the Midland Soccer Club from 2000-04 and served as a volunteer assistant men's coach for Saginaw Valley State University from 2002-04. He was an All-GLIAC midfielder for SVSU in 2002.

He holds a U.S. Soccer "A" License, NSCAA 'Premier' Diploma as well as a U.S. Youth Soccer "National Youth" License.

Thomas graduated from Staffordshire University with a Bachelors of Arts Honors degree in Sports Science & Management. He currently lives in Beverly Hills, Mich. with his wife Sarah and their two boys, Ethan (6) and Cameron (3).
