Christian Polega became the graduate assistant strength and conditioning coach for the University of Detroit Mercy in the fall of 2014.

Previously, he was a personal trainer and strength and conditioning coach at PEAK Health and Wellness in Missoula, Montana, and has also been an intern in the strength and conditioning department with the University of Montana and a couple of the Milwaukee Brewers minor league affiliates.

With Montana, he assisted with football, men’s and women’s basketball, women’s soccer and tennis. With the Brewers organization, he started as an intern with strength and conditioning with the Helena Brewers, the rookie league team of Milwaukee, where he communicated regularly with minor league strength and conditioning coordinator, implemented strength and condition programs, led active warm-ups, stretches, conditioning, and speed, agility and quickness drills.

He also constructed a six-week team strength and conditioning program for Milwaukee in San Pedro de Macoris, Dominican Republic, in the winter of 2012, and then served as a strength and conditioning coach with the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers, the Brewers Single A team, from 2012-2013, where his duties also included supervising and evaluating player nutrition and supplement program, demonstrated safe and effective lifting and conditioning technique, designed a new weight room layout and managed the team’s strength and conditioning budget.

No stranger to the Horizon League, Polega graduated from Milwaukee in 2011 with a bachelor of science in kinesiology as well as a certificate in strength and conditioning from the College of Health Sciences. He is currently pursuing his masters at UDM in health services administration.
