Biography

2015-16: Picked up three singles wins on the season, all from Nos. 4-6… Narrowly fell in three sets to No. 37 Notre Dame’s Brendon Kempin, 6-4, 6-7 (4-7), 2-10… Capped the season with a 4-6, 6-4, 6-4 win over UIC’s Max Cederkall at No. 5 singles.

2014-15: Tied for second on the team with a 10-11 record in singles, playing mostly at No. 3 and No. 4... Went 2-4 in the Horizon league with a win at No. 4 and a win at No. 5... Recorded six wins in doubles, but took part in just one doubles match during Horizon League play... Posted a 6-4, 1-6, 6-2, victory against Cleveland State’s Ali Shabib in the HL Championship quarterfinals… Ousted Youngstown State’s Dawould Kabil, 6-2, 6-3, at No. 5 and Wright State’s Jose Pestana, 3-6, 6-1, 6-4, at No. 4... Beat Mount St. Mary’s Darren Mast, 6-2, 6-2, at No. 4 during the Titans’ spring break trip… Recorded a 6-3, 7-5 triumph over Western Michigan’s Andrew Cahn at No. 3 in the season-opening dual match… Posted a 4-1 record in the fall going 2-0 in singles and 2-1 in doubles… He breezed by Ferris State’s Aaron Dial, 6-0, 6-3, and Wayne State’s Harvey Reed  , 6-2, 6-2, at the Detroit Titan Invitational… He also teamed with Jay Joshi for an 8-2 triumph over Dial and Tyler Bridges of FSU and an 8-3 tally over Wayne State’s Reed and Clement Charriere… Stelmaszak and Joshi also played together at the ITA Midwest Regional Championships, falling to Michigan’s Kevin Wong and Michael Zhu, 8-4, in the first round of the main draw... A member of the Detroit Athletic Director’s Honor Roll. 

Prior to Detroit: A transfer from Portland State, he led the Vikings with a .412 win percentage in singles finishing at 7-10 in 2013-14… He was also 3-6 in Big Sky singles matches as a rookie, playing mostly at No. 2 singles, but was 2-0 at No. 3… He finished his freshman year strong winning five of his last nine matches and was a Big Sky All-Academic.
 
High School: Ranked as high as No. 7 in Poland as a junior, winning over 20 All-Poland tournaments… Also won a bronze medal at the Polish Championship..
 
Personal: Son of Anne and Ryszonol Stelmaszak… His sister, Zuzanna, is a sophomore tennis player for Duquesne… A Civil Engineering major.
