Biography

A four-year member of the Detroit women's soccer team who joined the Titan women's basketball squad in mid-season.

2013-14…
A walk-on who joined the team in December after a four-year career on the women’s soccer team…Became the first Detroit female student-athlete in 10 years to play on three varsity teams with the last being Laura Gignac (1999-03), who played three years of softball, two for track and field (2001, 2003) and one with cross country (2001)… Appeared in nine games – all against Horizon League teams – and totaled 17 minutes on the court… Made her collegiate debut on the hardwood at Wright State playing a season-high seven minutes and posting one rebound and a point on a free throw… Had a steal and a rebound at Valparaiso… Also had a rebound against Youngstown State on Senior Day.

2013:
Served as a team co-captain... Started first nine games of the season before suffering a knee injury vs. Stetson (9/22) and missing the next nine games... Still scored the game-winning goal vs. Stetson in her 14 minutes of playing time... Returned to lineup playing in 1-0 double overtime win in Horizon League Quarterfinal vs. Valparaiso (11/5)... Started in the Horizon League Semifinals at Milwaukee (11/8) in what ended up being the final game of her storied career... Finished the year with three goals and six points... She also had 14 shots with 8 on goal... Netted her first goal of the year at California (8/27) on a penalty kick... Added goals in consecutive home games against Bowling Green (9/17) and vs. Stetson (9/22)... Posted a season-best four shots, one on goal, vs. Canisius (9/6)... McCollum finished her four-year career playing 68 games making 64 starts... She scored 17 goals and added 14 assists for 48 points... She had 142 shots and five game-winning goals... Since joining UDM as a freshman in 2010, team was 25-5-2 overall on home turf at Titan Field and outscored opponents 74-11... Stands in a tie for eighth on the UDM all-time career assists list with 14.

2012: Started all 17 of team's games... Named to All-Conference Second Team... Finished season with four goals and three assists for 11 points... Four goals tied for the team-best with Kaitlyn Quarrell, Haley Burtraw, and Nina Carter... 11 points tied for the team-best with Quarrell... Was second on the team in total shots with 38 and tied for first on the team with Burtraw in shots on goal with 22... Scored two goals against Marygrove (8/24) including game-winning tally... Added second game-winner of the season at Green Bay (9/22) in conference opener... Recorded points in four straight games including an assist at Wright State (10/10), a goal against Cleveland State (10/14), and then adding assists against Madonna (10/19) and Youngstown State (10/24)... Shared Most Offensive Player award with Kaitlyn Quarrell as awarded by the coaches.

2011: Led team with six goals and eight assists for 20 points in 20 games over 19 starts... Also had team highs in total shots (43) and shots on goal (22)... Led the NCAA in assists and assists per game atop the NCAA leaderboard during the early part of the season... Finished fourth in the Horizon League in total assists... Had a three assist game against Eastern Michigan (Aug. 23) and added another at Bowling Green (Aug. 28)... Had two goals and an assist at Marygrove (Aug. 31) that completed a stretch of four games where she accumulated two goals and seven assists... Named to All-Conference First Team... Shared Co-Offensive Player of the Year honors with Kaitlyn Quarrell as awarded by the coaches.

2011 (WLAX): Played five games with the women's lacrosse team, starting one contest against Duquesne... Took three shots on the season, two by way of a free position... Took two shots at Liberty.

2010: Recorded her first collegiate points including the game-winning goal against Madonna in a four-point game in which she also had two helpers (Aug. 26)... Scored at 4:02 of the first overtime period in a 1-0 win at Eastern Michigan (Sept. 7) for her second career game-clincher... Scored fourth goal of the year at home vs. Eastern Kentucky (Sept. 19)... Started 18 of the team's 20 games... Led the team with 47 shots and was second on the team in shots on goal with 20... Finished with four goals and three assists for 11 points... Her four goals were third best on the squad... Named to the All Conference Newcomer Team.

Prior To Detroit: Earned multiple letters at Monroe in soccer, basketball, football and track... Named soccer Player of the Year in 2008 & 2010... Made her mark as an offensive weapon setting a school record 40 goals for the season including seven in one game... Left the Trojan’s second in school history with 81 markers... She also became the first female athlete to ever kick extra points in football... Played club soccer with the Michigan Rush.

Personal: Daughter of Becky and Charles McCollum... Has two older brothers, Glenn and Matthew... Her hobbies include hunting, fishing, 4-wheeling, bonfires and camping... Major is criminal justice with a minor in psychology.
