Kaylah Berndt enters her third season as a volunteer assistant coach for both the University of Detroit Mercy men's and women's fencing programs.
Berndt was a Team MVP as a senior for the Titans in 2014-15 and also earned the "Most Improved" honor during her four-year Detroit Mercy fencing career.
She earned 83 bout victories over her four year career, which spanned from 2011 through the 2014-15 season.
Berndt fenced in both sabre and epee for the Titans. She was Honorable Mention All-Conference as a senior in epee and was on the Detroit Mercy Athletic Director's Honor Roll across three years.
She was a three-time qualified for the NCAA Midwest Regional Championships, placing as high as 14th in epee as a senior in 2014-15.
