Cliff Brandmier joined the Detroit Mercy women's soccer staff as an assistant coach in the summer of 2019 and will begin his second season on the Titan sidelines in 2020. 

Brandmier brings a wealth of experience at the prep level as well as collegiate experience as an assistant coach. 

He is currently the Girl's Technical and Tournament Director at Liverpool FC Of Michigan International Academy for U11-U19. He also worked with the Trebol Soccer Club in Louisville, Colorado, from 2016-17 as a Technical Director. 

Brandmier was an assistant with the Western Michigan women's soccer team from 2013-15, helping the program tally a 39-17-10 record, a pair of Mid-American Conference championships and a win in the NCAA Tournament. He worked directly with the planning and executing of training sessions, worked with the goalies and assisted with all facets of recruiting. 

In his first year with the Broncos, WMU went 12-5-5, captured the conference tournament and then went on to upset No. 8 Marquette in the NCAA Tournament for its first NCAA win in school history. 

The 2015 team posted a 14-4-4 mark, including 8-1-2 in MAC play, and won the conference tournament again to receive its second NCAA bid in three years. 

Brandmier started his coaching career as an assistant coach at Big Rapids High School under Justin Fox for the varsity girls soccer team before moving to the Metro Detroit area and serving as an assistant coach at his alma mater Berkley High School on the boy's varsity soccer team. After a year as an assistant, he was elevated to head coach of the boy's and girl's varsity soccer teams, leading the ladies to their first-ever district championship and earning District coach of the Year accolades. In 2019, he returned to his alma mater and won the girl's district again and was the Coach of the Year. He now holds the most wins in a single season (14) and in a career (74). 

In 2009, Brandmier began coaching for the Force Football Club in Bloomfield Hills and coached multiple levels within the club with his primary assignments being with the older aged girls soccer teams. In 2011, he was the head coach for the U19 girls State Cup team that won the State Cup championship and he was also the head coach of the 2012 Force FC Super 20s women’s team that was ranked No. 1 in the country. The team was composed up all Division I college soccer players and one US national team player.

In 2012, Brandmier was named the head coach of the varsity girl's team at Rochester High School, where his team was ranked in the top 10 in Division 1. During the 2013 campaign, the compiled a record of 20-3-5 and reached the Division 1 state semifinals and took home District and Region Coach of the Year.

A two-year captain on the club team during his playing days at Ferris State, he graduated from FSU in 2005 with a degree in Hospitality Management and also holds a Bachelors degree in Sports Management from Southern New Hampshire University in 2015. 

He currently holds a USSF National “C” License.

Brandmier resides in Berkley, with his wife, Ashley.
