2008-09: Ended her Titan career second in doubles wins (64) and third in singles victories (64)…Tallied 34 wins in her final season as a Titan, including 20 doubles wins and 14 singles victories…Her 20 doubles wins were tied for second on the squad…In singles, went 4-4 in conference play with a 4-3 mark at No. 3 and a 1-0 record at No. 4…Teamed with Erin Weldon for a 16-8 ledger in doubles with a 6-2 record in the Horizon League, mostly at No. 3…That tandem ended the season winning 11 of their last 12 matches, including eight in a row at one point…During the streak, Maricevic and Weldon were 6-1 in HL play and scored 8-4 wins over Milwaukee’s Jenna Felsher and Megan Gow in the conference tournament quarter-finals and Butler’s Cam Thompson and Ashley Breittenbach in the semi-finals, the latter securing the Titans’ double point in the match…In the fall, she partnered with Svetlana Flankova once for a perfect 3-0 weekend and winning the No. 4 doubles flight at the Bowling Green Invitational...Earned AD honor roll status.
As A Titan: Has been a consistent contributor during her four seasons with the Titans… A powerful baseliner who has made a major impact on the UDM fortunes in both singles in doubles… After just three years at Detroit, is already just one of five players ever to ring up 50 singles victories in a career… Her best season numbers-wise was in 2006-07, when she totaled 19 victories in singles, and 15 more on the doubles court… Reached double figures in both departments a year ago, too, with 17 wins in singles and 12 more in doubles… That helped Maricevic earn second-team All-Horizon League recognition from the conference coaches… Her aggressive style and fearless mentality make her a strong doubles player.
Personal: Maricevic, who earned the 2006 Coach’s Award for her efforts as a freshman, signed with UDM in July of 2005… Born and raised in Tuzla, in the former Yugoslavia, she eventually moved to Canada…Lived briefly in Nova Scotia before settling in Hamilton, ON… There, she played junior tennis for seven seasons… An experienced OTA (Ontario Tennis Association) player with a great deal of tournament success, Maricevic made a quarterfinal appearance in a 2004 ITF event...
