Anne Takacs-Grieb

Assistant Coach Anne Takacs-Grieb joined the Titan Track and Field coaching staff prior to the 2016-17 season, working primarily with the throwers and helping multi-event athletes with throwing mechanics.

Takacs-Grieb comes to Detroit Mercy after spending 15 seasons with the Michigan Wolverines. During her tenure at Michigan, she mentored eight individual Big Ten champions and six All-Americans. Her athletes broke every U-M throwing record and also went on to compete on the international stage.

She joined the Michigan coaching staff in February of 1997 after serving as assistant coach for the men's and women's track and field programs at Ohio University (1989-97). At Ohio, she coached five Mid-American Conference champions and 12 NCAA provisional qualifying distance throwers.

Takacs-Grieb graduated from Ohio State University with a bachelor's of science in chemical engineering in 1987 and competed with the Ohio State University track and field program.

Takacs-Grieb resides in Grass Lake, Mich., with her husband, Chuck.
