Chris Rossi was named Business Manager in July 2018. He was promoted to Director of Athletic Administration in July 2021, Director of Athletic Business Operations in the winter of 2021 and added an Assistant Director title in 2025.
Rossi initially joined the University of Detroit Mercy Department of Athletics in September of 2015 as an Athletic Facilities/Operations Assistant, spending three seasons in that role, through the 2017-18 school year.
As an Facilities/Operations Assistant, Rossi assisted with all gameday operations and facility management for the department, including helping with the set-up and teardown for all athletic events, overseeing gameday workers and staff and aiding in the scheduling and organization of athletic events and programs.
He spent three summers from 2016-18 working with the Detroit Pistons, assisting with the Pistons Academy summer basketball camps. Among his duties were supervising registration, lunch, the camp store and clean up of the gym.
Rossi was the sports coordinator at the Carls Family YMCA in Milford from August 2017 through June 2018, where he ran all of the sports leagues and coached a variety of youth sports. Other volunteering work includes with the Special Olympics, Habitat for Humanity and the Greening of Detroit.
Rossi, a native of of Milford, Michigan, received a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Grand Valley State University in 2015 and earned a Master of Arts in Sports Administration in 2017 from Wayne State University in Detroit.
