Dr. Michael Workings has worked closely with the University of Detroit Mercy and its student-athletes since 1992 as the Titans’ team physician.
A local product, he grew up in the Motor City and attended Gesu Catholic School (across the street from UDM) and the University of Detroit Jesuit High School before graduating from the University of Michigan and its medical school.Â
He completed post graduate training in Family Medicine at Henry Ford Hospital and is an assistant professor of Family Medicine at Case Western Reserve University. He also instructs fellows of the of the primary care sports medicine fellowship at Henry Ford Hospital.
Dr. Workings is Board certified and currently serves on the Board of Directors for the American Board of Family Medicine and the Michigan Academy of Family Physicians. In his career, he has received multiple "Best Doctor" awards from Hour Detroit.
Besides serving as the team physician for Detroit Mercy, he splits his time between the Detroit Tigers, the Detroit Lions and the University of Detroit Jesuit High School as team physician as well as a clinical practice at the Henry Ford Medical Center in Troy.
Dr. Workings or his fellows will be at most Titan home and tournament games, provide regular training room clinics and work closely with the Detroit Mercy Sports Medicine athletic training team.
