Josh Stenback

Josh Stenback officially joined the University of Detroit Mercy Department of Athletics as an Athletics Student Services Intern in August 2019. Stenback was promoted to Athletics Academic Coordinator in January 2020. He has worked within the department since Nov. 2016, volunteering his time in both the compliance and academic offices.

While with the Titans, Stenback has volunteered in a variety of number of different roles. He assisted student-athletes with all issues related to eligibility, academics, general well-being, utilizing Banner, ACS Compliance, NCAA Compliance Assistant Slate and NCAA Portal to uphold compliance standards. He helped monitor 19 varsity programs and more than 300 student-athletes, while fostering an environment of NCAA Compliance knowledge for all staff members and student-athletes, among many other roles.

Stenback volunteered with the department in a time when it was in-between Academic Coordinators, helping monitor more than 300 student-athletes along with conducting meetings with student-athletes. He also served as a liaison for the athletic department, student, professors and campus resources.

Prior to his time with Detroit Mercy, Stenback worked at Lawrence Tech University in the Department of Athletics as an Athletic Administrator Intern. He assisted in the development, planning and implementation of the department's strategic plan, offered daily guidance to the athletic programs and coaches and helped promote the major LTU athletic events, among other duties.

Stenback, who played collegiate soccer at Saginaw Valley State, earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Therapy in 2011 and a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Sports Management from Davenport University in 2018.

Stenback also is the Director of Youth Academy and a soccer coach for Nationals Soccer Club out of Oakland. He holds a USSF National E license.
