Steve Corder is in his 23rd year as head of the University of Detroit Mercy compliance program. After serving one year as the Director or Student-Athlete Development, Corder began his role as Detroit Mercy's Compliance Coordinator in 2000 and was promoted to Assistant Athletic Director for NCAA Compliance in 2006.
In his current position, Corder is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Detroit Titans NCAA Compliance Suite, including duties such as monitoring student-athlete eligibility, as well as certifying coaches to recruit off campus. He is also the sports supervisor for men's and women's fencing.
Corder serves as the liaison for Detroit Mercy with the NCAA, Horizon League and MAAC, and served as commissioner for four years of the National Lacrosse Conference. He has also served as Chair of the Horizon League Compliance Committee, Administrative Liaison for Horizon League Soccer Coaches Committee and has presented at the NCAA Regional Rules Seminar.
Corder is a graduate of Detroit Mercy (1998), and was a member of the men’s soccer program during his tenure. In addition, he also served as assistant men's soccer coach and associate head coach from 1999-08.
