Senior captain Carly Fiorido (Windsor, Ont.) scored the game-winning goal in Sunday's 1-0 victory over Central Michigan, ripping a free kick from just outside of the box to the far post and past the goalkeeper with just 21 seconds left in regulation. Fiorido's second career goal lifted Detroit Mercy to a victory in its home opener from Titan Field. In three games, the defender has played all 270 minutes and is tied for the team lead with three shots on goal.
