Senior foilist Algird Szumlas (Glendora, Calif.) went 22-1 over the weekend at the Army West Point and Vassar Duals on Saturday and Sunday, respectively. Szumlas went undefeated with 17-0 mark at Army, before recording a 5-1 record at Vassar. Szumlas, who fenced for the red, white and blue in the NCAA Championships in 2017, entered the 2018-19 season with a record of 150-45 at Detroit Mercy and already has a mark of 35-3 in his senior campaign.
