Junior pitcher Liz Murphy (Maple Ridge, B.C.) earned Horizon League Tournament MVP honors after her standout performance in helping lead the Titans to their first-ever NCAA Tournament appearance in softball. Murphy hurled back-to-back complete game shutouts in Detroit Mercy's 2-0 and 1-0 wins during the final day of the championship over top-seeded and host UIC. She went 3-0 overall during the tournament and added one save, allowing just two earned runs in 22.2 innings pitched (0.62 ERA). She allowed 17 hits and struck out 19 and lowered her season ERA to 2.16. Murphy's eight saves this season are tied-for-third in the nation.
