The Detroit men's soccer team will take a break from conference action on Wednesday as the Titans will take its last road trip of the season and will face Bowling Green at 2 p.m. at Cochrane Field.
In its last outing, UDM dropped a 2-0 decision to visiting Loyola on Halloween. Detroit sophomore
Otieno Victor (Kisumu Nyanza, Kenya/Kakamega) leads his team in both goals (4) and points (8), while senior
Ken Simon (Brighton, MI/Brighton) and freshman
Kevin Pinkos (Clarkston, MI/Clarkston) have each dished out a team-high three assists. In addition, Titan sophomore
Sam Seppo (Port Huron, MI/Port Huron) has collected a team second-best three goals, while senior
Nick Dreshaj (Clinton Twp., MI/Chippewa Valley) has scored two goals and has earned two assists.
Bowling Green heads into Wednesday's contest with a 2-11-3 overall mark and a 1-3-2 record when playing on its home field. The Falcons have lost their past two games, including a 3-0 setback against Northern Illinois at home on Halloween and the last win for BGSU came on Oct. 16 at Buffalo (4-3). Senior Cameron Hepple leads the Falcons in both goals (7) and points (15), while teammate senior Hunter Van Houten has dished out a team-high four assists thus far this season.
Detroit owns a 5-14-2 overall record against BGSU, which includes a 3-3 tie on the Nov. 4, 2008 at Titan Field. The last time UDM captured a victory against the Falcons was on Sept. 8, 2004 by a score of 1-0 in Detroit.
The Titans (3-12-1) will close out their 2009 campaign on Saturday, Nov. 7 against UIC at Titan Field (12 p.m.). Dreshaj and senior
