Detroit sophomore
Nate Robinson (Novi, MI/Novi) earned Horizon League Men's Soccer Player of the Week honors for his efforts on the field this past week as announced by the conference office Monday afternoon.
Robinson tallied six points on the week, which included an assist on the game-winning goal in overtime at Bowling Green on Wednesday to help lift Detroit to a 3-2 victory. On Saturday, Robinson tallied five points against UIC, which included a helper on the game-winning goal against the Flames. All-in-all, Robinson dished out three total assists and scored Detroit's fourth goal of the afternoon to help UDM attain its largest scoring output of the season and defeat UIC, 4-2.
"Nate is a playmaker type of athlete who has been solid for us all year and finally got on the mark against UIC," said interim head coach
Nick Deren. "I am happy for Nate to get rewarded for his efforts the last week of the season."
This marks the first conference player of the week honor for a Titan athlete this season and the first for a UDM men's soccer player since Jason Massoglia (Sept. 18, 2006).
Detroit closed out the 2009 campaign with a 5-12-1 record and a 2-6 mark in Horizon League play.
