The Horizon League Network, once again showing its prowess on the new media front, has launched HLN Mobile – a streaming video application for iPhone and iPod Touch users.
Via the free application, Horizon League fans can access an array of video files, including game highlights, coach interviews and much more. HLN Mobile also pulls in the most recent news stories, up-to-date schedules and a community link that features ticket and alumni information. The application is available as a free download on the iTunes App Store.
“The Horizon League is always looking for ways to differentiate its new media offerings from other collegiate sports organizations,” said Horizon League Director of New Media and Technology Nate Flannery. “With the amount of students, fans and alumni using these mobile devices, it seemed like a logical place to promote our brand and content.”
HLN Mobile is powered by LaViaz's SportsView™ technology. SportsView™ is a modular application platform that takes advantage of the industry leading technology offered by the Apple iPhone and iPod Touch devices. It allows any sports organization to deliver its multimedia content, including video, to their wireless fans.
“We developed SportsView™ for those with a passion for a specific sports community and the teams that comprise it,” said LaViaz CEO Ron Blaisdell. “The application takes the user directly to what they want to see first, providing school and league centric multimedia mobile channels that are easy to access and navigate.”
