Hanna Breaks 400m Record

Day Three Results

Sophomore Lesley Hanna (Exuma, Bahamas/Coakley) broke his second record of the year as the Titans came away with several good runs in the final day of the 43rd Annual Hillsdale Gina Relays on Saturday. The meet was the Titans last tune-up before the Horizon League Championships next weekend.

Hanna took second in the 400m in 47.25, breaking former Titan standout Eric McKeon's 47.41 time. The run was also just .05 seconds away from a regional qualifying mark. Hanna also rebounded from slipping out of the block to finish 12th in the 200m in 22.27 and was the lead-off runner on the 4x100 team (Landrum, Jones and Cleary) that posted a fourth-place effort in 42.33, a little more then a second off the 42.04 UDM record.

Sophomore Earnest Cleary (Detroit, MI/Ferndale) took sixth in the 100m in 10.69, while junior Deonte Osayande (Detroit, MI/Wingate) was 27th in 11.22.

Rookie Vushaun Landrum (Windsor, ON/Sandwich Secondary) set a personal record as well as posted the second best time in Titan history with a 21.76 in the 200m, placing fifth in the race. In the process, he also became just the fourth Titan to break 22 in the event. Joining him in the race was junior Sam Jones (Detroit, MI/U-D Jesuit) who finished 15th while moving to No. 10 on the all-time school list with a time of 22.39.

Senior John LaRocca (Eastpointe, MI/De LaSalle Collegiate) ran a 49.83 in the 400m to finish 14th, while junior Alex Gould (Comstock Park, MI/Comstock Park) was ahead for much of the 800m and ended the race 20th in 1:56.28, just missing a career best.

Freshman Aviram Campbell (Yale, MI/Yale) took 14th in the 110 hurdles with a time of 15.26, while senior Adam Mayhew (Richland, MI/Gull Lake) was 18th in the discus with a mark of 42.04m/137'11”.

The Titans put two teams in the 4x400m with the “A” squad, consisting of John and Joe LaRocca, Kevin Wozniak (Dearborn, MI/Edsel Ford) and Jones, claiming eight 3:22.18, while the “B” team of Osayande, Gould, Campbell and Brian Greenhoe (Sand Lake, MI/Grant) ran a 3:27.92 for 12th place.

The Titans will now get ready for the Outdoor Horizon League Championships which begins on Friday at Benedictine University in Lisle, IL.
