Kevin Demorest made an immediate impact in his only year on the field for Detroit and now he will look to continue to build the Titan lacrosse program as he was recently named a graduate assistant coach.
“Kevin was a great addition as a player and now I fully believe he will be a great asset on our staff,” said head coach
Matt Holtz. “He is a smart player who earned the respect of the team right away and was named a captain last season. Just keeping him here is great in that he knows what we are looking to accomplish here.”
Demorest battled back from a knee injury to play in eight games in the Titans' inaugural season, finishing third on the team in goals (10), assists (5) and points (15). He will assist the coaching staff in all facets of the program.
Demorest, who transferred to Detroit from Harvard, is a local product from Birmingham where he was a three-time All-State and All-Midwest player at Seaholm High School. He ended his prep career as one of the top players in school history and still holds the school record with 236 goals, including a pair 80-goal seasons. He helped lead the Bulldogs to a state championship as a sophomore, becoming the first public school to ever win a state championship in men's lacrosse in Class A.
The former Titan attacker is currently pursuing his MBA from UDM.
