SERIES RECORD
Detroit leads the overall series with Butler, 31-22, which includes an 11-15 mark when playing at Hinkle Fieldhouse. The Titans have lost the past eight meetings with the Bulldogs, including a 60-42 setback in Indianapolis on Feb. 8, 2009. The last time Detroit defeated Butler was on Jan. 12, 2006 on the Bulldogs' home court by a score of 71-69.
SCOUTING THE BULLDOGS
Butler heads into Saturday's match-up with an 11-6 overall record and a 4-2 mark in Horizon League play to currently stand tied for third in the conference standings. Most recently the Bulldogs captured a 77-61 win over visiting Wright State (Jan. 21) to improve its home record to 7-1 on the year. Melanie Thornton is leading Butler in both scoring average (15.4 ppg) and rebounding (8.0 ppg).
ONE FOR THE MONEY
With Detroit's thrilling 2-point overtime victory at Valpo on Thursday and a Green Bay loss at Loyola, the Titans are now tied with the Phoenix atop the conference standings as both teams own a 5-1 record in league contests.
MAKING IT COUNT
Sophomore
Sierra Spaude was subbed back into the game with 28 seconds left in regulation against Valpo on Thursday and, five seconds later, she made a crucial basket from beyond the arc to pull Detroit within two, which eventually helped force overtime with the Crusaders.
EXTRA SESSION
The Titans have played in three overtime games in head coach Autumn Rademacher's tenure and Detroit owns a 2-1 mark in these games, including Thursday night's 72-70 victory over the Crusaders. The other victory came in double overtime at Eastern Michigan on Dec. 20 (76-75).
ALMOST PERFECT
Senior
Brigid Mulroy is shooting an impressive 95 percent from the charity stripe (20-of-21) in Horizon League games, with her only miss coming at Milwaukee (Jan. 7). Mulroy had a flawless 6-of-6 showing against Valpo on Thursday.
70-PLUS
For the third time this season, Detroit scored 70 or more points and the 72-point effort at Valpo on Thursday is the second-most points that the Titans have scored thus far this season. UDM set the standard in its season-opening win at Oakland on Nov. 13 (74).
STEALING FOR THE BETTER
Sophomore
Jalesa Jones has a good heart, but when it comes to stealing on the court, no one could hold her back on Thursday as she collected a career-high and game-best six steals. One of which was critical in setting up the game-tying basket by sophomore
Yar Shayok in the closing seconds of regulation.
OUT OF BREATH?
Forget the 40-minute club, two Titans are now part of the 45-minute club for the season as sophomores
Jalesa Jones and
Lauren Allen played every minute against the Crusaders on Thursday. This ties a personal-best for Allen and sets a new career-high for Jones in this category.
SIX OUT OF SEVEN
The Titans have won six out of the past seven games and in those wins, Detroit is outscoring its opponent by an average of 8.7 points. However, in Detroit's last four Horizon League wins, the Titans have won by an average of 2.0 points.
DOUBLIN' UP, TIMES FOUR
Four players scored in double figures for Detroit on Thursday, which marks the fifth time this season that at least four athletes have scored in double figures. The four other times this occurred was: Oakland (Nov. 13), Morehead State (Dec. 13), Colgate (Dec. 30), Wright State (Jan. 3). The Titans own a 4-1 record in those games, with the lone loss coming at Morehead State.
TEN PLUS FIVE
Freshman
Demeisha Fambro came off the bench to score a team second-best 15 points against Valpo on Thursday, 10 of which were scored in regulation and the remaining five were the first points scored in overtime.
BAKER'S DOZEN, PLUS ONE
With Shayok leading the Titans in rebounds the past three games, she has now led or tied for the lead among her teammates in this category 13 times thus far this season.
“2000, ZERO, ZERO...”
The last time Detroit started 5-1 in league play was during the 1999-2000 season when it was the MCC. The Titans opened up conference play on Jan. 13 with a 70-56 loss against Green Bay and then went on to win six straight: Milwaukee (71-68), UIC (81-73), Loyola (88-73), Wright State (48-33), Butler (76-64) and Cleveland State (91-83), with the sixth victory happening on Feb. 5.
CAREER NUMBERS
Sophomore
Yar Shayok collected a career-high and game-best 16 rebounds, 14 on the defensive end, this against Loyola on Jan. 16 and also dished out a personal-best five assists to help Detroit capture its fourth Horizon League win.
MIRROR IMAGE
Senior
Brigid Mulroy matched her effort from Detroit's game against UIC (Jan. 14) with five 3-point field goals made (5-of-9) versus the Ramblers on Jan. 16 to help her end with a game-high 19 points.
TWICE AS NICE
Senior
Brigid Mulroy was named Horizon League Women's Basketball Player of the Week on Jan. 18, to mark the second time this season in which Mulroy has received this honor (Nov. 16). She averaged a team-best 18.0 points per game on the week and shot 10-of-14 from 3-point range, which included a flawless 5-for-5 showing against the Flames on Thursday. Mulroy shot a combined 10-of-15 from the field and made all six free throws on the week. In addition, Mulroy was voted as the Horizon League Network's “The People's Choice” winner (Jan. 21) for the second time this year.
DID YOU KNOW?
Senior
Brigid Mulroy has been ranked in the top-5 in the nation for 3-point field goal percentage every week thus far this season, except for one and she has been ranked first in the Horizon League in the same category since Nov. 24.
FIVE IS DEFINITELY ALIVE
Not only did senior
Brigid Mulroy make all five attempts from long range against UIC on Jan. 14, but her last one left her hands just as time expired to help propel the Titans to a 66-65 win over the visiting Flames. In addition, Mulroy missed only one attempt all night as she had a 5-of-6 showing from the field and she also made both attempts at the line to end with a game second-best 17 points.
ONE FOR THE MONEY
Prior to last season's 76-75 overtime win at Eastern Michigan (Dec. 20), the last time the Titans defeated their opponent by just one point was at Toledo on Nov. 23, 2003 (50-49).
SEVEN-UP
Mulroy now stands all alone at the seventh spot in Detroit's record books with 119 career 3-pointers.
HERE TO HELP

HOME SWEET HOME
Detroit has now won four-straight games at Calihan Hall, which began against Colgate on Dec. 30 (67-44) and the most recent win was a 53-50 victory over Loyola (Jan. 16). The last time the Titans won four consecutive contests at Calihan Hall was during the 2001-02 campaign as Detroit defeated Butler on Jan. 3 (86-68), Wright State two days later (60-49), Cleveland State on Jan. 12 (94-67) and then UIC by a score of 83-65 (Jan. 24).
START YOUR ENGINES
For the past seven games, head coach Autumn Rademacher has used the starting line-up of sophomores
Yar Shayok,
Jalesa Jones and
Lauren Allen, as well as senior
Brigid Mulroy and junior
Tayler Langham. This starting five has compiled a 6-1 record, which started with a 67-44 win over visiting Colgate on Dec 30.
THREE TO GET READY
As a team, the Titans made nine 3-pointers against UIC on Jan. 14, which is the second-best showing for Detroit in this category thus far this year. Detroit set the standard for the season at Indiana State (Dec. 1) when the Titans poured in 10 from beyond the arc.
I'LL TAKE THREE OF THOSE
Two points wasn't enough for sophomore
Lauren Allen, so she sank one from long range with 30 seconds left in the game against Milwaukee (Jan. 7) to help lift the Titans to their third-straight win.
RUNNING FROM THE LAW
When we were young, we were taught that it's not okay to steal, but there's an exception and sophomore
Yar Shayok proved that on Jan. 7 as she collected a career-high, game-best and a season-high single game showing for the Titans with six steals.
MAKING A 'BIG' IMPACT
Sophomore
Jalesa Jones, also known as 'Lil' Bit', poured in a team-high 14 points after making a career-high six field goals and also added a team-best five assists against Milwaukee on Jan. 7.
ALL BOARDED UP
The Titans outrebounded the Panthers, 42-20, in Detroit's 59-57 victory on Jan. 7 and UDM also edged the Phoenix in caroms, 33-30, two days later.
HAPPY DAYS, AGAIN
Richie Cunningham or Fonzie couldn't be found in the stands on Thursday, but it was a 'Happy Day' for the Titans as their win against Milwaukee on Jan. 7 was the first on the Panthers' home court since March 3, 2005 (59-49).
THAT'S MY BALL
Junior
Tayler Langham collected double figure rebounds for the first time in a Titan uniform as she ended with a team-high 11 caroms against Milwaukee on Jan. 7.

BOARD WORK, NOT BRIDGE WORK
Senior

LONE SENIOR HONORED
Detroit's lone senior,
Brigid Mulroy, came out of the gate raring to go in UDM's opening week as she averaged 20.5 points in the two games. For her efforts, Mulroy was named Horizon League Women's Basketball Player of the Week on Nov. 16 and also earned the Horizon League Network's “The People's Choice” honor (Nov. 19).
MORE MULROY
Mulroy opened the 2009-10 campaign with a team third-best 14-point effort in Detroit's 74-65 win at Oakland on Nov. 13 and, two days later, in UDM's home opener, she shot 8-of-11 from the field, including 4-of-5 from long range, and made all seven attempts at the line to end with a career-high and game-best 27 points versus #10 Michigan State. The eight made field goals matches her career-high and the seven free throws is a personal best for Detroit's lone senior.
DOUBLE OR NOTHING
Sophomore
Yar Shayok made a huge impact for the Titans against Oakland on Nov. 13 as she collected a double-double with game-highs in both points and rebounds with 26 and 14, respectively.
LAST TIME OUT
Down by six to Valparaiso with 38 seconds left in regulation, the Titans clawed back to send the game into overtime and Detroit ended up defeating the Crusaders by 72-70 at the Athletics-Recreation Center in a Horizon League match-up Thursday evening. With a Green Bay loss earlier in the evening, Detroit is now tied with the Phoenix for first place in the conference.
Sophomore
Sierra Spaude hit a 3-pointer to pull UDM within two (65-63) with 23 seconds on the clock and, with 15 seconds remaining in regulation, Valpo was inbounding the ball in front of Detroit's bench. However, Detroit sophomore
Jalesa Jones, who ended with a career-high six steals, got her hand on it and fed the ball to sophomore
Yar Shayok who hit a lay-up to tie the game.
Neither team was able to score in the remaining seconds, which sent the contest into an extra session.
Detroit scored the first seven points of overtime, the first five of which came from freshman
Demeisha Fambro, and the final two came from sophomore
Lauren Allen. After Valpo pulled within two, Allen got a shot off, got her own offensive rebound and handed the ball to Jones, who was fouled with three seconds left. Jones missed the front end of a one-and-one situation, but solid defense from Detroit did not allow Valpo a chance to get a shot off and helped secure the Titans' fifth Horizon League win.
Four Titans scored in double figures with senior
Brigid Mulroy leading the way with 19 after shooting 6-of-9 from the field and a flawless 6-of-6 from the free throw line.
