Over 160 UDM Student-Athletes Earn AD Honor Roll Accolades

During halftime of the men's basketball game against Loyola on Thursday night, the University of Detroit Mercy athletic department recognized its student-athletes who attained at least a 3.0 GPA for one of the past two semesters to earn Athletic Director's Honor Roll accolades.

"The fact that our student-athletes continue to excel in the classroom is a testament not only to them, but to the faculty here at the University who continue to support our student-athletes in achieving this academic success," said UDM Director of Athletics Keri Gaither.

Over 65 percent of all Detroit student-athletes are on this year's AD Honor Roll and this marks the 19th consecutive semester in which over 50 percent of the University's student-athletes have achieved a 3.0 or better.

"Once again, the number of student-athletes being honored last night reaffirms our athletic department's commitment to academic success," said Assistant AD for NCAA Compliance Steve Corder. "Each individual coach, administrator and parent should be proud of our student-athletes and how they represent UDM's athletic department in the classroom."

Each student-athlete was recognized on-court by Gaither and UDM Executive Vice President Michael Joseph.
