Post-game reactions with Autumn Rademacher and senior Brigid Mulroy
In its final regular-season home game and on Senior Day, Detroit captured a 67-49 victory over Valparaiso in a Horizon League match-up Saturday afternoon at Calihan Hall.

Brigid Mulroy (West Bloomfield, MI), UDM's lone senior, was honored prior to tip-off for all that she has contributed to Detroit's women's basketball program during her career.
Four Titans scored in double figures with sophomore
Jalesa Jones (Detroit, MI/Pershing) leading all scorers with 16 points, and she also dished out a season-high eight assists. Sophomore
Sierra Spaude (Sturgeon Bay, WI/Sturgeon Bay) was next with 14 points after shooting 5-of-7 from the field, four of which were 3-pointers, while both Mulroy and sophomore
Lauren Allen (Rochester, MI/Rochester) netted 10. In addition, sophomore
Yar Shayok (Ottawa, ON/Hillcrest) pulled down a game-high 13 rebounds.
Detroit (14-12, 12-3 HL) never trailed in the game and had its largest lead of 20 in the middle of the second half after Allen drained one from long range with help from Jones to put the score at 62-42. The Titans added five more points in the closing minutes, two of which came from Mulroy and Spaude hit one from beyond the arc with 25 seconds left.
In the first half, UDM was up by two with just under nine minutes left and then scored 14 unanswered points to take its largest lead of the stanza, 32-16. The Titans spread the scoring out during that span, which included a 3-pointer from both Spaude and Mulroy. Valpo pulled within 10, but the Titans responded with a 7-2 run, including a midrange jumper from freshman
Demeisha Fambro (Detroit, MI/Crockett Tech) with five seconds remaining, to take a 41-26 advantage with them at the break.
Senior Lauren Kenney led the Crusaders in scoring with 12 points, while junior Ashley Varner came off the bench to collected a team-best seven rebounds.
The Titans shot 43 percent (25-of-58), while the Crusaders had a 21-of-53 showing from the field. Detroit outrebounded Valpo (7-18, 4-10 HL), 39-32, and also had an 8-1 advantage in the steals category. On the afternoon, Detroit forced 18 Valpo turnovers, which resulted in 31 points for the Titans.
UDM closes out the regular season with three consecutive road games, beginning with a match-up at Cleveland State on Thursday at 5 p.m.
