CLASH OF THE 'ONES'
Thursday's game between Detroit and Green Bay is a key match-up as both teams are currently tied for first place in the Horizon League with a 7-2 mark in conference play. This is the first time since the 1996-97 campaign that UDM has owned a share of first place nine games into the conference season as Detroit, Green Bay and Butler all started that year 7-2.
SERIES RECORD
Detroit owns a 5-32 record in the overall series with Green Bay, which includes 4-12 mark when playing in Detroit. The Titans suffered a 71-46 setback earlier this season on Jan. 9 in Wisconsin and the Phoenix won all three meetings last season, including in the second round of the Horizon League Tournament on Mar. 11 at the Kress Center (60-46). The last time UDM defeated Green Bay was a 56-50 overtime win in Detroit on Jan. 24, 2004.
SCOUTING THE PHOENIX
#23/22 Green Bay heads into Thursday's match-up with an 18-2 overall record and a 7-2 mark in Horizon League play. The Phoenix is currently on a two-game winning streak, which includes a 78-54 victory over Valparaiso at home on Jan. 30. The only two games that Green Bay lost this year came at Loyola on Jan. 21 (65-63) and at UIC two days later (81-72). Julie Wojta is averaging a conference second-best 15.3 points per game and she is also leading the Phoenix in rebounding average (6.2).
NOT THE AIRPORT IN CHICAGO
Midway through the conference season, Detroit owns a 7-2 HL record, which betters its conference record from just a year ago by five games (2-7). When looking at all the teams in the league, Detroit has the largest turnaround at the midpoint of the conference slate compared to last season; Loyola is second (+3).
STARTING OFF STRONG
The Titans are off to their best start in conference play since the 1996-97 season when Detroit began 7-2 and finished out the year 14-2 in MCC play. UDM split with Green Bay during the regular season that year, but the Titans captured a 63-55 victory against the Phoenix in the conference championship game (March 9) to send Detroit to the NCAA Championship for the first time in school history.
SEVENTH HEAVEN
Detroit heads into Thursday's match-up with seven conference wins, which matches its total amount of Horizon League victories from the 2008-09 campaign.
RPI
As of Feb. 1, Detroit is ranked 154th in the 2010 NCAA Women's Basketball RPI. The Titans ended last season at the 220th spot and, in the year before Autumn Rademacher was the head coach, UDM finished at the 291st slot.

THERE'S NO PLACE LIKE HOME
Thus far this season, Detroit owns a 5-0 mark in Horizon League games that are played at Calihan Hall. In those five contests, UDM is outscoring its opponents by an average of 13.8 points.
DOUBLIN' UP, TIMES SEVEN

The six other times this occurred was: Oakland (Nov. 13), Morehead State (Dec. 13), Colgate (Dec. 30), Wright State (Jan. 3), Milwaukee (Jan. 21) and YSU (Jan. 28). The Titans own a 6-1 record in those games, with the lone loss coming at Morehead State.

“CRASH...INTO ME”
The Titans were relentless on the boards on Jan. 28 as they grabbed a season-high 53 rebounds against Youngstown State.
ADVANTAGE: DETROIT
Detroit led by a score of 36-17 at the half against YSU on Jan. 28, which is the least amount of points an opponent has scored in the opening half against the Titans since head coach Autumn Rademacher took over a year and a half ago.
The Titans defeated Youngstown State by 36 points on Jan. 28 (80-44), which is the largest margin of victory for UDM since Jan. 29, 1998 when Detroit defeated Wright State at home by 37 points (93-56).
TWO DECADES WORTH

NO THORN FOUND IN SIDE
Freshman

MAKING IT COUNT
Sophomore
Sierra Spaude was subbed back into the game with 28 seconds left in regulation against Valpo on Jan. 21 and, five seconds later, she made a crucial basket from beyond the arc to pull Detroit within two, which eventually helped force overtime with the Crusaders.
EXTRA SESSION
The Titans have played in three overtime games in head coach Autumn Rademacher's tenure and Detroit owns a 2-1 mark in these games, including last Thursday night's 72-70 victory over the Crusaders. The other victory came in double overtime at Eastern Michigan on Dec. 20 (76-75).
STEALING FOR THE BETTER
Sophomore
Jalesa Jones has a good heart, but when it comes to stealing on the court, no one could hold her back against Valpo on Jan. 21 as she collected a career-high and game-best six steals. One of them was critical in setting up the game-tying basket by sophomore
Yar Shayok in the closing seconds of regulation.
BATTER-UP!
Senior

DID YOU KNOW?
Senior
Brigid Mulroy has been ranked in the top-5 in the nation for 3-point field goal percentage every week thus far this season, except for one and she has been ranked first in the Horizon League in the same category since Nov. 24.
OUT OF BREATH?
Forget the 40-minute club, two Titans are now part of the 45-minute club for the season as sophomores
Jalesa Jones and
Lauren Allen played every minute against the Crusaders on Jan. 21. This ties a personal-best for Allen and sets a career-high for Jones in this category.
TEN PLUS FIVE
Freshman

Mulroy shot a combined 10-of-15 from the field and made all six free throws on the week. In addition, Mulroy was voted as the Horizon League Network's “The People's Choice” winner (Jan. 21) for the second time this year.
FIVE IS DEFINITELY ALIVE
Not only did senior
Brigid Mulroy make all five attempts from long range against UIC on Jan. 14, but her last one left her hands just as time expired to help propel the Titans to a 66-65 win over the visiting Flames. In addition, Mulroy missed only one attempt all night as she had a 5-of-6 showing from the field and she also made both attempts at the line to end with a game second-best 17 points.
SEVEN-UP
Mulroy now stands all alone at the seventh spot in Detroit's record books with 126 career 3-pointers.
HERE TO HELP
Sophomore
Lauren Allen dished out a game-high seven assists against the Flames on Jan. 14. Allen also added a team third-best 10 points, which included two treys, to tie for a season-high.
I'LL TAKE THREE OF THOSE
Two points wasn't enough for sophomore
Lauren Allen, so she sank one from long range with 30 seconds left in the game against Milwaukee (Jan. 7) to help lift the Titans to their third-straight win.
RUNNING FROM THE LAW
When we were young, we were taught that it's not okay to steal, but there's an exception and sophomore
Yar Shayok proved that on Jan. 7 as she collected a career-high and game-best six steals.
MAKING A 'BIG' IMPACT
Sophomore
Jalesa Jones, also known as 'Lil' Bit', poured in a team-high 14 points after making a six field goals and also added a team-best five assists against Milwaukee on Jan. 7.

LONE SENIOR HONORED
Detroit's lone senior,
Brigid Mulroy, came out of the gate raring to go in UDM's opening week as she averaged 20.5 points in the two games. For her efforts, Mulroy was named Horizon League Women's Basketball Player of the Week on Nov. 16 and also earned the Horizon League Network's “The People's Choice” honor (Nov. 19).
MORE MULROY
Mulroy opened the 2009-10 campaign with a team third-best 14-point effort in Detroit's 74-65 win at Oakland on Nov. 13 and, two days later, in UDM's home opener, she shot 8-of-11 from the field, including 4-of-5 from long range, and made all seven attempts at the line to end with a career-high and game-best 27 points versus #10 Michigan State. The eight made field goals matches her career-high and the seven free throws is a personal best for Detroit's lone senior.
DOUBLE OR NOTHING
Sophomore
Yar Shayok made a huge impact for the Titans against Oakland on Nov. 13 as she collected a double-double with game-highs in both points and rebounds with 26 and 14, respectively.
LAST TIME OUT
Behind a double-double effort from sophomore
Yar Shayok with 15 points and a game-high 11 rebounds, as well as three other Titans scoring in double figures, the Detroit women's basketball team captured a 62-54 win over Cleveland State in a Horizon League match-up at Calihan Hall Saturday afternoon.
With 3:22 to play, sophomore
Jalesa Jones, who ended with a game-high 17 points, drove to the basket and hit the game-winning shot as she was falling to the ground and, on her way down, she was fouled and ended up making the free throw to put the score at 56-52. Less than a minute later, Jones dished out a pass to sophomore
Sierra Spaude, who hit a long two to stretch Detroit's lead to six with just over two minutes left.
The next play for UDM also involved Jones as she released the ball just before the shot clock expired and she saw the ball go through the net to put the score at 60-52 with just over one minute remaining in the contest. CSU sophomore Janelle Adams answered with a lay-up, but that was the last basket Detroit allowed from the Vikings and senior
Brigid Mulroy made both attempts in a one-and-one situation in the closing seconds to secure Detroit's win.
Spaude scored in double figures for the second game in a row with 11 points, while freshman
Demeisha Fambro came off the bench to add 10 for the Titans. Jones ended with a game-high six assists, while Shayok collected a game-best four steals.
Detroit shot 49 percent on the afternoon (24-of-49), while the Vikings had a 23-of-59 showing from the field. A difference maker came at the free throw line as the Titans shot 69 percent (9-of-13) and CSU only had three tries at the charity stripe all afternoon (3-of-3). Detroit also edged out the Vikings in rebounds, 32-28.
