Golden Grizzly Open Results
Sophomore
Alexandria Vintevoghel (Casco, MI/Marine City) led a group of five Titan harriers that all ran within a minute of each other as Detroit opened the 2010 season by competing in the Golden Grizzly Open.
“A positive opener for us and the pack ran as expected,” said head coach
Guy Murray. “A great sign that we had six inside of a minute and if we can keep the pack that close to Alexandria (Vintevoghel) we will be in great shape.”
Due to some technical difficulties, a number of times and places are not available, but all of the runners from Detroit have been accounted for.
Vintevoghel, who made her collegiate debut at this event a year ago, ran a 15:36 for 12th place on the 4k course.
Junior
Kirstin Mooney (Stirling, ON/St. Theresa Catholic) posted a time of 16:00, while sophomore
Katrina Oberski (Clyde, MI/Port Huron) came in at 16:03. Freshman
Rachel Hofsess (Milford, MI/Milford) was next at 16:07 and that was followed by fellow rookie
Victoria Eger (Buchanan, MI/Buchanan) who crossed the finish line at 16:14.
Rounding out the Titan runners was sophomore
Sarah Martinez (Grand Blanc, MI/Flint Powers), who completed the race in 16:28, while senior
Megan Miller (Zanesville, OH/Zanesville) was at 17:37. Participating in their first collegiate cross country races, sophomore
Tressanique Hampton (Flint, MI/Southwestern Academy) turned in a 17:58 performance, while freshman
Cecilia Pope (New Baltimore, MI/Anchor Bay) ended in 18:12.
