MILWAUKEE, Wis.--  Milwaukee scored 12 of the game's final 16 points to erase a Detroit lead and escaped with a 72-67 win Friday evening at U.S. Cellular Arena in Horizon League play.  The Panthers trailed 63-60 with four minutes left but rattled-off eight straight points to wrestle the lead away for good.

Milwaukee (11-11, 6-5) took advantage of a late Detroit dryspell to propel past the Titans in the final minutes.  Chris Blake hit a triple to give the Titans a seemingly comfortable 62-54 advantage with five minutes remaining.  A pair of Tony Meier threes followed and the Panthers trimmed the deficit to a bucket.

The key play may have come on the next possession as a defensive foul was originally called on the Panthers.  After a lengthy discussion and a second trip to the courtside monitor by the officials, it was determined a technical foul on Blake and a defensive foul.  After Blake made the front end of the one-and-one, Meier made both freebies and Milwaukee trailed by just one.

Two offensive charges, and two missed shot by the Titans on their next four possessions allowed the Panthers to build a five-point lead at 68-63.  UWM made its free throws down the stretch and secured the win.

Detroit (11-11, 5-5) came out of the gate firing as the first play of the game was a McCallum steal and a fastbreak dunk. Eli Holman then threw down a one-handed slam on the next trip and the Detroit offense was clicking.  Chase Simon made his first three triple tries as the Titans grabbed a 33-19 advantage, their largest lead of the night.

A 12-0 Panther spurt erased most of the lead and all of the momentum as Milwaukee sliced it down to one by halftime, 37-36.  Two Holman dunks on back-to-back possessions gave the Titans a five-point advantage a few minutes into the second frame.

Later, another McCallum steal and dunk provided a 10-point advantage with 9:21 left.  The lead remained in Detroit's hands and was eight with five minutes left before the Titans went over five minutes without a field goal to give the Panthers the opportunity to seize control.

McCallum led four Titans in double figures with 16 points while adding six assists.  Blake had 15, Simon 13 and Holman 10 for Detroit.

The Titans will remain in Wisconsin and travel north to take on Green Bay on Sunday afternoon.  Tip time is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Eastern.

Notes:  Both coaching staffs wore sneakers for "Coaches vs. Cancer", an annual event geared towards raising awareness ... Tonight's loss was the first for Detroit when it held the lead with five minutes to go (11-1) ... The Titans had 10 team blocks in the loss, five by Holman, four by LaMarcus Lowe and one by Donavan Foster.
