Detroit is coming off a stretch where it played five games in nine days, which ended last Saturday with the final game of the UTSA Thanksgiving Classic. UDM once again nearly picked up its first win of the season on a second-half comeback, but the Titans just fell short against the Roadrunners, 59-55. Both freshman Shareta Brown and junior Chanahl Putnam were in double digits for the sixth-straight game as Brown had a game-high 18 points, while Putnam toed her season-high with 13.

The game is the sixth on the year for the Titans away from Calihan Hall as they will run that number to seven next Tuesday when Detroit plays at Michigan State. After that, UDM returns home for three straight and five of the next six starting with Michigan coming to town next Thursday, Dec. 8. DETROIT VS. BALL STATE
This will be just the fourth career meeting between the two schools with the Titans owning a 2-1 advantage over the Cardinals. Last season, UDM downed BSU, 78-60, at home in the first game played between the two schools in over 20 years.

Prior to last year's victory, Detroit and Ball State last met in 1987 with the Titans earning a 90-65 triumph on Mar. 2, before dropping a 71-66 decision on Dec. 19.

ABOUT BALL STATE
The Cardinals have won three straight after starting the year on a three-game losing streak. BSU last played on Tuesday taking a 55-50 win on the road in Evansville. Ten Cardinals netted a basket in the victory with Jazmin Hitchens leading the way with 11 points. Ball State forced the Purple Aces into 19 turnovers, while coming away with 12 steals and nine blocks and holding them to 28% shooting.

The Cardinals have nine letterwinners and three starters returning to a team that was 9-21 a year ago. They were tabbed to finish fifth in the MAC West Division. BSU lost its top two scorers from last season leaving sophomore Brandy Woody as the highest returning scorer at 5.5 points per game.

Hitchens currently tops the team in scoring at 13.8 ppg., while also averaging 5.8 rpg. Brittany Carter is second on the team in scoring at 8.7 ppg., while Katie Murphy leads the team in rebounding at 6.7 per contest.

GAME # 100
Head coach Autumn Rademacher will coach her 100th career game for her alma mater on Thursday against Ball State.

Rademacher came to Detroit in 2008 to revive a program that had won just 11 total games in the two years prior to her taking over and had not had a winning record since 2004. She guide the Titans to 12 wins in her first year – including a win over top-25 Georgia – and then a 17-14 record and a 14-4 mark in the conference in 2010.

She was named the Horizon League Coach of the Year following that campaign that saw UDM reach the HL semifinals.

AGAINST THE MAC
The Titans are 70-61 all-time against current teams from the Mid-American Conference.

Since head coach Autumn Rademacher took over the reins as the Titan leader in 2008, Detroit is 4-5 against the league with a pair of victories over Eastern Michigan along with wins against Western Michigan and Ball State.

Last season, UDM was 3-1 versus the MAC, with the lone blemish at Bowling Green.

Detroit has played one MAC school already falling to the Falcons at home last week.

AGAINST THE HOOSIER STATE
Detroit has done a fine job when it comes to taking on teams from the Hoosier State. UDM is 66-46 all-time against schools in Indiana, although it is 0-1 this season dropping a 64-62 contest at Indiana State in the season opener.

BROWN EARNS ALL-TOURNAMENT HONORS
It was another fine effort from the rookie as freshman Shareta Brown earned All-Tournament honors at the UTSA Thanksgiving Classic.

Brown ended the two-day event averaging 16.0 points and 5.0 rebounds. Her 16.0 ppg., led all players as she was a combined 8-of-15 from the field and 16-of-20 from the line.

BROWN AMONG TOP 50 IN THE NATION
The NCAA released its first official stats for the year and freshman Shareta Brown has her name in the top 50 in two categories.

Brown is 37th in the nation in rebounding at 10.0 rpg., while tying for 10th in double-doubles with her three on the season.

She is also shooting well from the field as her 51.6% is 95th at the Division I level.

10 OR 13?
Junior Chanahl Putnam has been in double digits in all six games so far, but in a pretty interesting stat, she has three games with 13 points and three with 10 points on the year.

CAN THEY MAKE IT SEVEN
Junior Chanahl Putnam and freshman Shareta Brown have been in double digits in scoring through the first six games of the year.

The six-straight to open a season are the most by a Titan in the last 20 years.

MAKING THE MOST OF AN OPPORTUNITY
Detroit saw some seldom used players step up and make some positive plays as they look to work their way into the rotation.

Freshman Brie Wilcox came up with a season-high five rebounds and a block in just nine minutes against Utah, while sophomore Julianna Glanz came off the bench to net tally a basket and grab a rebound in back-to-back games against Utah and UTSA.

Two other players who do see limited playing time also had some good performances last week as sophomore Senee Shearer tallied seven points and a career-high six rebounds against the Roadrunners. Sophomore Megan Hatter hit a 3-pointer in back-to-back games finishing with five points and three boards in 17 minutes against Utah and three points, four rebounds and two assists in 21 minutes of court time at UTSA.

ALL ON THE BOARD
The Titans used a team effort to nearly erase an 11-point deficit in its last game at UTSA and in the process, saw all 10 players who appeared in the game score.

It was the first time all the players that played in a game scored since last season when eight Titans contributed in a 55-51 victory over Butler on the road.

UDM HOLDING OPPONENTS FROM THREE
Detroit is doing a good job getting out on defenders as the Titans are holding opponents to just 27% shooting from three-point range on the season., tied for first in the Horizon League.

UDM has seen its opponents connect on just 25-of-93 from long range.

OH SO CLOSE
The Titans might be 0-6, but with just a little luck, Detroit could easily have picked up three or four wins. UDM dropped its three games by a combined nine points, including a pair of two-point setbacks at Indiana State and against Howard.

UDM also had a 15-point lead in the first half against Bowling Green and led by two with 3:21 left until the Falcons ended the game on a 10-0 run, while Detroit lost another close game falling 59-55 at UTSA.

Even more frustrating is that against the Sycamores and Bison, the Titans actually had a chance to win or tie in the final 30 seconds, but could not get a shot off at the buzzer at ISU, while freshman Shareta Brown's layup versus Howard just rimmed out.

JUST A MONSTER ON THE BOARDS
Freshman Shareta Brown pulled down a season-high 18 rebounds against Bowling Green. The 18 boards combined with 16 points was her third double-double in four games.

With the 18 rebounds, Brown became the eighth player in school history to post 18+ rebounds in a game and the first since India Bruster corralled 18 at No. 22 Green Bay on Mar. 7, 2007.

The other Titans who have recorded 18+ rebounds are Lisa Blackburn, Cheryl Day (school record holder at 27), Yvette Harris, Bridget Howard, Molly Peterman and Cheryl Williams.

Day, Harris and Williams are also the only players in school history with 20+ rebound-performances in a game.

CHANAHL FROM DOWNTOWN
Junior Chanahl Putnam has now hit a 3-pointer in all six games to start the season.

She started the year with three treys in her first three games and has kept the streak alive with one in each of her last three contests.

JONES LOOKING AT FIFTH
Senior Jalesa Jones is now just 10 assists away from Carrie Banks' fifth-place mark of 382 as well as 115 away from claiming the school record.

If she does break the Titan record of 486 - held by Mary Lillie - she will pass another familiar name in current head coach Autumn Rademacher (3rd-429)

As a freshman, Jones had 84 assists, while collecting 159 as a sophomore and 112 last year. For her career, she is tallying 3.8 apg.

TITANS DOMINATING THE BOARDS
Detroit has outrebounded its opponent in five of its six games on the year and owns a +7 rebounding margin on the season, tying UIC for the top spot in the Horizon League.

Against Bowling on Nov. 22, UDM posted a 56-31 advantage on the boards, including a 24-8 mark on the offensive glass. Freshman Shareta Brown had 18 rebounds, while junior Yar Shayok compiled 13 and those two alone had the same amount of boards as BGSU.

The +25 rebounding margin was the most by the Titans since posting a +24 mark (55-31) against Youngstown State last season.

The Titans have one other double-digit margin on the season in a 40-24 effort in the season opener at Indiana State.

REBOUNDS LEADING TO POINTS
The Titans' presence down low has led to some easy buckets in the paint as well as a plethora of second-chance points.

On the season, Detroit owns a 168-128 advantage in points in the paint and a 78-51 margin in second-chance points.

YAR KEEPS CLEANING THE GLASS
Junior forward Yar Shayok now has 666 career rebounds and currently stands in sixth place in the school record books.

She will have some work to do to get into the top five as next on the list is Molly Peterman at 769.
