ON TAP
Detroit will play host to a first round game of the Horizon League tournament for the first time since 2006. The Titans are the No. 5 seed and will battle the eighth-seeded Loyola Ramblers. The winner of Tuesday's opening-round action will advance to Milwaukee, Wis. to play the winer of the Valparaiso/Youngstown State matchup in the quarterfinals.
ABOUT LOYOLA
The Ramblers have the same 16 overall wins as Detroit, but were 7-11 in conference to finish eighth in the standings. LU is led by recently-dubbed Horizon League Sixth Man of the Year Geoff McCammon, who pours-in 14.5 points per contest. Loyola is the eighth seed in the postseason tournament for the fourth straight season.
LAST TIME OUT
Detroit used an 8-for-13 effort from the three-point line to grab a 77-67 win over host Wright State Friday night at the Ervin J. Nutter Center in the regular season finale.
Uncharacteristic in the path to victory, UDM beat Wright State at its own game by outshooting the Raiders from the perimeter (62% to 27%), all without a single point from its leading scorer (
Ray McCallum) until the final minute. WSU came into the game as the league's top team defenders against the three-point shot (.320), but
Chris Blake and crew used an efficient perimeter attack to earn the season sweep.
Blake hit 4-of-6 deep and had 15 first-half points to lead the Titans in the victory.
Eli Holman (19 pts, 11 rbs) and
Nick Minnerath (13 pts, 11 rbs) each posted double-doubles.

AGAINST THE RAMBLERS
