Holman Picks-Up Defensive Honor from CollegeInsider.com

BOSTON, Mass.-- The 2011 Mid-Major Defensive All-America team was recently announced and Detroit center Eli Holman is among the honorees.  The squad consists of 21 total student-athletes on one team in lieu of selecting first, second, third team and honorable mention teams.

Holman led the Horizon League in both defensive and offensive rebounds in 2010-11 and was the fourth-leading shot-blocker in the conference.  The big man followed-up his impressive sophomore season with dominating numbers once again in his junior campaign.  The 6-foot-10 post racked-up a league-high 13 double-doubles, was on the All-Defensive Team for the second straight year and was a Second Team All-Horizon League selection.  He was the Legends Classic MVP during the Thanksgiving tournament held at Calihan Hall.

He becomes the second Titan honored by the online publication after Ray McCallum was named to the CollegeInsider.com Freshmen All-America Team a few weeks ago (all schools).
