EMU Open Results
BRIGHTON, Mich. (11/1/2012) -- Senior
Sarah Martinez led the way as the Detroit women's cross country team warmed up for next week's NCAA Great Lakes Regional by competing in the EMU Open on Thursday at Huron Meadows Metro Park.
Martinez topped the Titan runners on the afternoon with a 19:44 run for 11th place in the 5k race.
Senior
Katrina Oberski was the second UDM runner in at 19:53 for 12th, while sophomore
Sara Taylor was right behind her clocking a 19:55 time to take 13th.
Senior
Olivia Smid was 16th recording a 20:43, while junior
Torrie Eger was just a few seconds away tallying a career-best 20:45 to earn 17th place. Freshman
Haley Morairty was the final Titan in the race running 21:12, finishing 18th.
UDM will now get ready for the 6k NCAA Great Lakes Regional, set for next Friday, Nov. 9, at the University of Wisconsin's Thomas Zimmer Championship Cross Country Course. The women's race will start at 1:00 p.m., (EST) with the men's race to follow at 2:15.
