Michigan Men's Results
ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The men's track and field had two meets this weekend in different parts of Michigan. Members of the team participated in the Grand Valley State Tune-Up on Friday in Allendale while others went to Ann Arbor for the Silverston Invitational hosted by Michigan on Saturday.
At the Grand Valley State Tune-Up Friday,
Matt Mahler led the Titans with a fourth place finish in the 800m run. Mahler ran 1:55.12 to secure the fourth spot while
Ryan Hofsess ran a 2:02.38.
In the mile run,
Bob Radlich placed 13th (4:21.32) and
Alex Harris (4:25.50) placed 19th as both ran new indoor bests.
Ylli Alla (4:26.51) and
George Holman (4:28.90) also both set new career marks.
At the Silverston Invitational in Ann Arbor on Saturday,
Shammah Carter set a new PR in the 60m hurdles with an 8.69 time and a seventh place finish.
Aviram Campbell led the Titans placing fourth with a time of 8.44.
In the 60m dash,
Vushaun Landrum set a season best with a 7.00 flat and a third place finish. Carter set another PR with a 7.27 time
In the long jump, Ja'Quan Patterson came in fourth at 6.61m.
In the 600m race,
Joe Raffin won the third heat 1:23.81 and finished ninth overall while
Anthony Donald and
Vince Lefler both set new PR's as Donald timed in at 1:24.89 and Lefler at 1:25.19.
The men's 4x400m relay team of Landrum,
Joe LaRocca,
Chris Smalley, and Raffin placed fourth with a time of 3:25.95.
The Indoor Track and Field Horizon League Championships are up next for the Titans and will take place on Feb. 25-26 at Youngstown State in Youngstown, OH.
