DETROIT -- The Detroit men's lacrosse team will look to shake off its season-opening setback as the Titans head to the Buckeye State to face Ohio State on Thursday. The game is set to start at 7:00 p.m., inside the Woody Hayes Athletic Complex.

Detroit battled Delaware in the first half as the game was tied at 4-all at the half, until the 19th-ranked Blue Hens netted 12 goals in the third period. Sophomore Shayne Adams led the way by posting his sixth career hat trick with three goals.

This will be the season opener for Ohio State, the third time in four years that the Buckeyes will open their season against the Titans.

The Titans are 0-3 all-time against Ohio State with all three games played in Columbus. Last year, Detroit was edged by OSU, 4-3, with the winning goal scored by the Buckeyes with 4:44 left in the fourth.

Sophomore Joel Matthews had five goals against Ohio State during the 2010 season, a 16-7 loss. Senior Tim Lehto has scored a goal in back-to-back games against OSU, while senior Scott Harris recorded the first marker in Titan history against the Buckeyes in 2009.

After Ohio State, the Titans will return home to face Michigan on Sunday at Ultimate Soccer Arenas in Pontiac. Tickets are going fast and for more information and how to purchase tickets to the event, click HERE or call the Titan Ticket Office at 313-993-1700.
