Third Meet of Outdoor Season Takes Detroit to Bucknell

LEWISBURG, Pa. -- Christy Mathewson Stadium on the Bucknell University campus was the site for this weekend's track and field event and the men's track and field team was in competition. Personal records were falling left and right as the Titans participated in the Bison Outdoor Classic on Saturday and Sunday.
 
In the 110H, Steven Ivanics set a new career best at 14.93 as he placed third overall for the best Titan finish of the day. Vince Lefler (15.43) and Shammah Carter (15.90) also set new career highs in the same event.

In the 400m hurdles, Ivanics ran a 57.19, another PR, and Taylor Hennrick (57.14) and Aviram Campbell (55.62) were all behind Lefler who topped the other Titans at 54.45 placing fifth in his heat and sixth overall.

George Holman set a personal best with 4:05.62 in the 1500m and finished seventh in his heat. Bob Radlich came just short of breaking the four minute mark in that event as he clocked in at 4:03.94.
 
In the men's 800m, Holman was at it again with another PR of 2:00.20 placing fourth in his heat. Also in the 800 was Ryan Hofsess (1:59.42), Chris Smalley (1:56.36), Radlich (1:55.95) and Matt Mahler (1:55.99).
 
Martin Nelkie ran in the 10k race with a time of 31:53.31 and became the sixth Titan to finish with a time under 32 minutes. Another PR was established in a distance run as freshman Ylli Alli had a time of 15:36.36 in the 5000m.
 
In the 100m, Ja'Quan Patterson (11.55) and Carter (11.59) finished one-two in the first heat, while Charles Anthony ran 11.12 in another. Patterson won his triple jump flight with a leap of 44-11.50.
 
In the 200m, Joe Raffin 23.20 ran and placed fourth in his heat. Anthony established a new PR with a time of 22.32 and coming in first in his heat.
 
In the 4x800m relay, the Titan team of Mahler, Radlich, Smalley and Hofsess timed in at 8:06.47 to place eighth.
 
In the throwing events, Eric Lewis set a new #10 Titan mark in the discus throw with a 144 feet and seven inch toss. In the shot put, Jeff Sherman threw 45-11.75.
 
After this weekend, the Titans will head to Allendale to compete at the Al Owens Classic at Grand Valley State on April 20-21.
