DETROIT (9/17/2012) -- Adam Bedell was named Horizon League Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for the second week in a row and Detroit will travel to Bowling Green, Ohio to face Bowling Green State University, Tuesday evening at 7:00 p.m.

Bedell, a junior forward, has been named Horizon League Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for the second week in a row after he tallied a goal and an assist against Green Bay on Friday. He has scored a goal in the last four games for the Titans dating back to September 2
nd against UC Irvine.
“Adam's overall play on the season has been stellar,” head coach Nicholas Deren said. “He is really becoming a force offensively and by finding his scoring touch that's only made him more dangerous.”
Horizon League Opener
UDM is coming off its Horizon League opener as the Titans defeated Green Bay, 2-1, Friday afternoon in Detroit. Bedell converted a penalty kick to tie the game and assisted on
Matt Harkema's game-winning goal to defeat the Phoenix.
Leading the League
The Titans' offense is tied atop the Horizon League with 11 goals and is second in assists (9) and points (31). Bedell and senior midfielder
Pat Lepera are tied at the top with four goals apiece. Bedell also leads in points with 10, while Lepera is tied for third with eight. Sophomore goalkeeper
Nathan Steinwascher is keeping the ball out of the net with a league-leading 35 saves and has accumulated a goals against average of 1.86 in seven starts
The Falcons
Bowling Green is coming off a 1-0 win over Cleveland State Friday evening. Anthony Grant scored the only goal after gathering a rebound off of a Zach Lemke shot. In goal, Michael Wiest made five saves to record his third shutout of the season.
Danny Baraldi leads the Falcons with six points (3G) while Grant and Ryan James have accumulated four points with a goal and two assists each. In net, Wiest leads the Mid-American Conference posting 32 saves in six games for a save percentage of .842, and he has a goals against average of .093.
BGSU will open MAC play when it hosts the Akron Zips on Saturday at Cochrane Field.
History
BGSU leads the overall series with a 16-6-2 mark and has won the last two meetings. UDM's last win came back in 2009 when
Ken Simon scored the game-winning goal in overtime to give the Titan's a 3-2 victory.
