DETROIT (9/17/2012) – The Detroit Titans men's soccer team improved to 4-4 after a 2-0 win at Bowling Green, Tuesday evening and will face Horizon League opponent, Cleveland State, Saturday afternoon on Titan Field at 2:00 p.m.

Junior midfielder
Adam Bedell is the two-time reigning Horizon League Offensive Player of the Week after scoring a goal in five consecutive games, the first Titan to do so since Andrew Ornoch did it in 2005. Bedell currently is leading the Horizon League in both goals (5) and points (12). He scored an insurance goal against BGSU to go up 2-0 late in the second half and converted on a penalty kick against Green Bay to help UDM to a 2-1 victory.
Final Line of Defense
The Titans' sophomore goalie,
Nathan Steinwascher, has recorded two shutouts on the year after the 2-0 win at Bowling Green. He currently leads the Horizon League in saves (40) and is tied for second in shutouts. Steinwascher made two big saves, including a diving save to his right to preserve the win which is Detroit's third win in four games.
Big “O” v. Big “D”
Sunday's game is a matchup of the Horizon League's best offensive team, in Detroit, against it's best defensive team, in CSU. UDM leads the Horizon League in scoring with 12 goals, while the Vikings lead the league in goals against with a 0.84 average. CSU has held three teams scoreless so far this season, including a 3-0 win at Michigan on September 2

The Vikings
CSU is a team that scores by committee, with eight players notching at least one goal. Zach Ellis-Hayden leads the Vikings with six points (2g, 2a) and is followed closely by three others who have recorded four points each. While Cleveland State is balanced up front, it's strength is at the other end of the field. The defense is anchored by senior goalie Brad Stuver. Stuver is currently leading the HL with a 0.84 goals against average and has made 34 saves, to hold a record of 4-3.
History
Detroit leads the series 14-8-1, but Cleveland State won the last meeting, 2-0 last season in Cleveland. The last Titans' victory came in 2010 when they defeated the Vikings, 2-0, in Detroit.
