Lacrosse Magazine 2013 Best Of Lacrosse Website
BALTIMORE, Md. (10/17/2013) – The University of Detroit Mercy men's lacrosse team is busy practicing and getting ready for the 2014 season, but the 2013 year is still making waves as the Titans are currently nominated in a pair of categories in Lacrosse Magazine's "2013 Best of Lacrosse" polls.
Fans now have the opportunity to vote for Detroit as UDM is one of four finalists in the Best Team Breakthrough category joining the Charlotte Hounds of the MLL, the Milton (Ga.) high school girls varsity team, the North Carolina women's program and the Stevenson men's lacrosse squad.
The Titans are also in the Best Game category for its near upset of Notre Dame in the first round of the NCAA Championship. In that poll, UDM and Notre Dame will have to best the UNC-Maryland NCAA Women's title game, Duke vs. Cornell NCAA men's semifinal, RIT vs. Cortland NCAA men's D III semifinal and the Canada vs. Australia World Cup preliminary.
The lacrosse publication started the tradition last year and the contest is back once again with 10 different categories. Voting started on Oct. 14 and will end on Oct. 25 so make sure to get in your votes early and often for the red, white and blue by
