Men's Lacrosse Season Comes To An End On Senior Day

DETROIT (4/25/2026) -- The University of Detroit Mercy men's lacrosse team got off to a slow start and could not recover as the Titans fell to VMI, 14-5, on Saturday afternoon.

It was Senior Day as UDM honored an eight-man senior class before the game in Harold Skinner, Caden Loken, Sean Henige, Kyle Grant, Zane Hitch, Christian Tucker, Zach Snider, and Jackson Ewald

Junior Lucas Goeller and sophomore Andrew Parker each had two goals, while freshman Dylan Belliveau had the other.

Grant ended with three caused turnovers and four ground balls. Junior Gavin Moore had two takeaways and a GB, and freshman Tyler Francis-Renner tied his season high with two caused turnovers and three ground balls.

VMI (7-6, 4-3 NEC) clinched the final spot in the NEC playoffs with the victory, as the Keydets scored the first four goals of the game. Goeller got the Titans on the board with his first goal of the season early in the second, but VMI took an 8-1 lead at the break.

Parker netted his first of the day just a few minutes into the third, and then, Detroit Mercy (3-10, 2-5 NEC) took advantage of a penalty as redshirt sophomore Marcus Thundercloud fed Parker for his second marker.

In the fourth, Goeller took a pass from Loken and found the back of the net, and freshman PJ O'Hanlon set up Dylan Belliveau with under a minute remaining.

Redshirt junior Cooper St. Clair made 13 saves in net, while Tucker played the final 11:31 and recorded one. Sophomore Canton Lanham won 10-of-19 faceoffs with seven GB's.

Sophomore Ian Greenwell ended with a takeaway and a ground ball, and sophomore Malakhi Berry registered a caused turnover and two GB's.

UDM was 19-of-20 on clears and caused 11 of VMI's 17 turnovers.

The game wrapped up the 18th season of varsity lacrosse for the Titans.
