GAMEDAY CENTRAL      Game Notes

DETROIT (3/4/2013) --
It will be a quick turnaround for the Detroit men's lacrosse team as the Titans get on the bus for Louisville, Ky., for a game at Bellarmine on Tuesday. Game time is set for 1:00 p.m. (ET) at Owsley B. Frazier Stadium.

There will be free live stats for this event as well as a live video feed. Titan fans can follow every UDM game this season through the men's lacrosse GAMEDAY CENTRAL page located on the Titans Athletic Website that will keep fans one click away from all the action. This page will feature links for live stats (audio and video when applicable) as well as links for all the latest info while also making it easy to find the Titans on social media and to purchase photos and game tickets.

The Titans lost a close, 12-10, game to Quinnipiac on Saturday. Junior Alex Maini provided some explosiveness on offense with a career-best seven points on a career-high five goals, his fourth career hat trick. The seven points tied a Titan Field record and was also just one away from the school record.

Maini now leads the team with 15 points and shares the team lead in goals with junior Shayne Adams at 10 apiece.

Bellarmine started the year with three-straight wins and was receiving votes in the coaches' poll, but the Knights fell from the undefeated ranks on Saturday with a tough 8-6 loss to #4 Loyola (Md.). Bellarmine edged Robert Morris on the road, 9-8, and then won two in a row at home beating Michigan (12-6) and High Point (12-5).

Cameron Gardner leads the team with 11 goals and 13 points. David Herring has won 34-of-67 faceoffs and Michael Bender tops the team with seven caused turnovers. Dillon Ward has played in all four games in net with three starts and is tallying a 5.71 goals against average and a .747 save percentage.

Bellarmine is averaging 9.75 goals per game and letting up 6.75. The Knights have caused 27 turnovers and are clearing the ball at a 91% clip.

Detroit is 0-4 all-time against Bellarmine, but the deficit in each game has dropped in all four contests. The series started with an 18-8 loss in 2009 and that was followed with a 12-8 setback at Ultimate Soccer Arenas in 2010. In 2011, UDM went on the road and fell 9-6 and last season, the red, white and blue dropped a 9-8 decision at Titan Field.

After the game, Detroit will have 11 days off before opening conference play at Marist on Saturday, Mar. 16.
