Titan Offense Ends Season Leading The Horizon League In Scoring

The 2013 Women's Basketball Invitational (WBI) champion Detroit Titans finished this season in the top three in the Horizon League in 10 different statistical categories, including leading the conference in scoring.

UDM averaged 70.2 points per game this past season, almost three points better than league champion Green Bay.

The Titans also topped the Horizon League with a +6.0 rebounding margin.

Detroit claimed second in field-goal percentage (44.5%), field-goal percentage defense (38.6%), scoring margin (+5.9) and assists (15.0), while ranking third in scoring defense (64.3), rebounding (39.2), three-point field percentage (31.8%) and assist-to-turnover ratio (1.0).

Individually, sophomore Shareta Brown broke not only her own UDM record, but the Horizon League record with 714 points this season in averaging 21.0 ppg., second in the HL and just the second Titan to ever average 20 points in a season, trailing only Hall-of-Famer Cassandra Pack's 22.2 ppg., in 1987.

Brown was among the top 10 in a few other categories, including leading the league in field-goal percentage (59.2%), third in rebounding (9.3), first in offensive rebounds per game (3.9), and 11th in free-throw percentage (71.3%). Her six 30-point games also led the league and she was tied for second with 16, 20-point outings and was third tallying 16 double-doubles and 16 double-digit rebounding performances.

Senior Yar Shayok was fourth in the conference in field-goal percentage (52.3%), fifth in rebounding (8.8) and blocks (1.0), and 26th in scoring (9.6).

Senior Demeisha Fambro tallied 11.4 ppg., for 17th in the league, while hitting her three's at a 33.8% clip, good for 10th in the conference, and freshman Rosanna Reynolds was fifth in assists (4.0), assist-to-turnover ratio (1.7) and minutes played (35.3).
