DETROIT (8/12/2013) -- The University of Detroit Mercy women's soccer team hosted the IPFW Mastodons on Monday afternoon at Titan Field falling by a 1-0 score in the first exhibition of the 2013 season.

IPFW received a goal from Hailey Mariotti at the 36:04 mark taking a cross from Maya Reyes who put the ball in for the only goal of the afternoon.

The Titans finished with eight shots overall to three for the Mastodons in an exhibition that was largely an opportunity for coaches to move players into new positions and formations while evaluating new ideas.

Sophomore Martha Dunbar played the first half in goal for the Titans and freshman Laura Taylor tended the net in the second frame.

The next game for Detroit will be this Friday at 3:00 p.m. at Titan Field as UDM will host Toledo in another exhibition. Fans coming to that game are encouraged to bring school supplies as they will be collected and donated to GESU Catholic School.

This Saturday, Detroit's varsity team will face an alumni team at 1:00 p.m. followed by a host of other family-friendly activities.
