INDIANAPOLIS (9/6/13) -- As part of their long-term relationship, the Horizon League and ESPN have announced that the University of Detroit Mercy will have a minimum of six men's basketball games involving League members air nationally on ESPN Networks during the 2013-14 season.

Among the highlights of the season is the game between Detroit and Oakland on Friday, Feb. 14. The game will be carried live on ESPNU as part of 'Rivalry Week'. This will mark the third-straight year the Titans will compete on ESPN during 'Rivalry Week' as they have won the first two games over Valparaiso (84-74, 2013) and Butler (65-61, 2012).

ESPN has also confirmed that five other Titan games will be carried among its Family of Networks. The first game will be the 'Horizon League Game of the Week' on ESPN3 when Oakland visits Calihan Hall on Saturday, Jan. 11. ESPN will then be on campus again to close the month as the Titans host Cleveland State (Jan. 31).

Detroit will then have four road games in February that will be covered by the ESPN Networks. The first game will be on ESPNU as the Titans visit Valparaiso on Friday, Feb. 7, before staying close to home for the 'Rivalry Week' matchup at Oakland (Feb. 14).

The Titans will visit UIC on Tuesday, Feb. 18, for a game on ESPN3, before closing the week at Wright State on Friday, Feb. 21, with the game on ESPNU.

ESPNU will carry both semifinal games of the Horizon League Tournament on Saturday, March 8, and the Horizon League Championship will air on Tuesday, March 11, at 7 p.m., on ESPN or ESPN2.

The Titans are coming off a season in which they made the NIT for the seventh time in school history after finishing second in the Horizon League. Detroit finished the year 20-13 overall, its third 20-win season in the past four years.
