DETROIT (10/22/2026) -- The University of Detroit Mercy men's basketball team will continue its preseason training as the Titans once again play in the Horatio Williams Foundation Hoops & Culture event on Saturday.

UDM will have an exhibition game against Alabama A&M at 4:30 p.m. at the Wayne State Fieldhouse.

The game is part of a trio of preseason match-ups as Wayne State faces Tuskegee at 2:00 p.m., and Oakland meets Tennessee State at 7:00 p.m.

Tickets are $20 for the day, which allows fans to watch all three games. There will be no live stats, but Detroit Mercy's and Oakland's games will be broadcast on YouTube.

The Titans started the preseason with a 90-80 win over Grand Valley State in an open scrimmage at home last weekend. Senior Ayden Carter led the way with 19 points and 11 rebounds. Sophomore Lance Stone added 18 points and eight assists, while sophomore Je'kel Cotton tallied 16 points and six boards.

It is the second straight year that Detroit Mercy will play in the event, as the red, white, and blue downed Central State, 75-67, last year.

Detroit Mercy was picked to finish seventh in the Horizon League Preseason Poll, while junior Tyler Spratt was named Preseason All-HL Second Team. The Titans return six players from last year's squad that won 17 games, the most since 2012-13, and made the Horizon League Championship contest for the first time since 2012.

After the game, the Titans will have one more preseason battle as they host Wayne State in Calihan Hall on Nov. 2.
